Chargeable weight and maximum shipment weight
Chargeable weight and maximum shipment weight are calculated according to the higher of actual or volumetric weight. To confirm this calculation, any shipment may be reweighed and remeasured by TDE (Heathrow) Ltd (TDE).
The Shipper shall pay or reimburse TDE for all shipping charges, ancillary charges, duties and taxes owed for services provided by TDE or incurred by TDE on behalf of the Shipper, Receiver or any third party. The Shipper shall pay or reimburse TDE for all claims, damages, fines and expenses incurred if the shipment is deemed unacceptable for transport as described in the documents: Packing Advice and Restricted / Prohibited Items.
Volumetric (or dimensional) weight is calculated using the formula:
Length (L) x Width (W) x Height (H) (cm) 5000
The maximum weight per piece sent via Express Service is 50kg. For oversized pieces, please contact us prior to shipping. Shipments non-conveyable via the automated sorting machinery will be subject to additional charges. Items classed as non-conveyable include:
- Dangerous goods
- Drums
- Pallets
- Suitcases and bags
- Non-geometrical shapes
- Items not packed in accordance with our Packing Advice
- Banded items
- Flight cases
Note: The above is a non-exhaustive list. For further advice, please contact us prior to shipping.
Shipment weight charges are calculated by taking the tariff point equal to the chargeable weight or the next tariff point above the chargeable weight.
